Starting a business takes extremely hard work and long hours to get it launched. Often, the workload never seems to let up. Some people are even able to luck out and find a business that they can make a quick buck in, but most if not all of those businesses seem to be short lived.

The affiliate marketing industry, which is a fairly new industry, offers a new angle to an old problem. This industry offers unlimited income potential converting advertisers from  fixed cost advertising to variable cost pay for performance strategies.

Advertisers enjoy the benefit of only paying for advertising that converts into revenue and marketers love it because they now have a much broader product line available. The creativity rests in the individual marketer to deliver results, which again offers unlimited income potential.

The barrier to entry is only limited by the effort that you make to promote your brand along with your advertisers. If you work hard and are disciplined, you will find yourself creating a profit center not found in many business opportunities.  You wont get a free ride here, but the only person that will hold you back is yourself with this opportunity.

What's better is that your start-up cost is minimal, and you don't need investors to get you started. You should be able to put your own strategy together even if you have no capital. In the end, your investment is your time and any money that you put back in. You won't have to answer to a board, and you don't have to share anything with anyone else, unless of course you want to.

I must admit that my eyes were opened at the Affiliate Summit where I personally met several affiliate marketers, some of the best in the industry and they are all having the time of their lives.

Never before I have I seen such an industry where everyone gets along so well while helping one another so that they too can "Share in the wealth."

You should be planning to attend the Affiliate Summit East and change your life.

In just a few hours, the Affiliate Summit West convention starts and I will be networking and learning with some of the best in the business. Already, this has turned out to be the best convention ever, I can't imagine what I will think when it is over!

I came into Vegas early, so that I could take a direct flight from my home, and made sure that I did not eat lunch yesterday, anticipating going to Bellagio to have dinner ,at the buffet.  That might seem strange at first, but if you have ever ate at the Bellagio Buffet, you will know exactly why I did what I did.

The buffet has 88 chefs. who make the best prepared food, of almost any restaurant I have ever had. It is 5 star quality food, that is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The buffet has Kobe Beef, Beef Wellington, Rack of Lamb w/mint sauce and just about everything else you can possibly imagine.

Last night, as typical, the line was about an hour to get seated. I am in Vegas by myself, and lucky enough, the guy in front of me mentioned how great the buffet is and that he was by himself. We started a conversation and he ends up living only a few hours from me, and so the sports conversation gets started.

The conversation turned to what we were doing in Vegas and after I mentioned that I was an entrepreneur, turns out so is he. We continued to talk, discovering that he does some merger and acquisition work, and that he has a CPA firm, was in the tile business previously and did a few other things.

We ended up at the cashier and decided to have dinner together, talking about everything from politics, to war stories on business and what the future holds. It was a great evening, and even better because I thought I was having dinner by myself, and that was it.

I am interested in staying in touch, and who knows, but our paths may cross either in a business deal, or just to get together and chat, but the key is that it was a thought provoking quality conversation that was valuable. It motivated me to work harder, reminding me of my goals that I have and I made a new friend.

We need to draw energy from successful, motivated and confident people wherever we can, and this was an opportunity to share with someone that had no motives other than to eat some food. Very cool and very relaxing.

Be willing to take those opportunities to share with others, to learn from them and to motivate yourself to take it to the next step, whatever that step may be.  You never know who the person standing in front of you may be, but if you are not open, you'll never find out.

Thanks, Ron for a great conversation. I will be in touch.

Friday is #followfriday on Twitter. It is where publishers come together to promote one another based on quality content offered. Your strategy should be to acknowledge publishers that you think are worthwhile, and refrain from making long lists meant to gain followers.

Writing in our blogs can be difficult at times. Sometimes, downright tormenting. Having the ability to write everyday is an art that can be mastered only with time and practice.

Where to find the perfect content

Finding that perfect idea takes learning to a new level. You have to be constantly searching for information in books, online, in the news and just plain conversing with others. Then, when you discover your topic, you must be able to compile the content to express your idea. Make sure you are able to have several related thoughts to the main topic. This will help you to break apart your blog post and provide more depth to it. In the end, you will tie it all together. Fail to communicate your idea and you will lose readers who will not return, but inspire your readers and they will tell others.

Saturated topics

If you have chosen a topic that is over saturated, you need not fear losing your audience as long as your content is clear and valuable. Quite often, the reader may become even more engaged in your blog, because you offer value when other sites offer little substance and are more focused on luring unsuspecting readers who only visit once.

When you first start

When you first start writing about your subject you need not worry about the quality of your content because you will not have readers yet. You just have to get started. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but you will get he hang of it.  You will always be able to go back and rewrite the content, but it is key that you start to express your ideas.

Call a friend

Don't be discouraged if you are unable to communicate your message in writing. Rather, call up a friend, and have a conversation about the ideas that you are trying to convey. Take notes in the conversation and then use the notes to be the foundation for your post. You will find that you will be able to wrap the words around those ideas and your message will then be expressed quite naturally.

Avoid overstating your idea

Many times the blog writer will overstate what they have to say. They will not simply identify the message and leave it at that. This causes the reader to become frustrated and confused when reading the post. If you simply proof read your post each time you make changes to it, you will be more likely to end up with a polished post that satisfies your reader and ultimately you!

Enjoy your time writing and come back often for more tips and techniques.
