The entrepreneur is a natural risk taker, willing to put everything on the line to succeed in business, and often faces failure. Very few end up with a large monetary reward, but many people do not understand that the entrepreneur is more about doing the deal, then making the money.
The entrepreneur, for the most part is a capitalist, looking to exploit new opportunities. Some people are defined a social entrepreneur, who takes parts in non-profit ventures. We, however, will stay focused on the capitalist entrepreneur.Many entrepreneurs will start several businesses, one after another. It is a natural tendency to stay with being an entrepreneur, after completing your first venture. The excitement and opportunities are too much for the entrepreneur to re-enter the workforce, and instead will choose less pay, in order to succeed as an entrepreneur. This person is known as a serial entrepreneur.
More recently the term Infopreneur surfaced, which is an entrepreneur that sells or provides information online or through electronic means such as ebooks and other services. The term is used more in tight circles of online entrepreneurs.
There are many sites that teach people how to become an infopreneur, and one of my favorites, where I was a member is Internet Business Mastery. Their information is sound and not a lot of fluff.
Many entrepreneurs do not have formal education included in their resume, as until recently, entrepreneurship was not a strong focus in colleges and universities, but with the changes in markets, accredited institutions are now offering specialized courses and degrees in entrepreneurship.
When the entrepreneur succeeds, they quite often are known to be philanthropists and will graciously give to their community.
Every year, Forbes Magazine produces the 400 richest people list including several entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs often come and go from this list as their ventures and activities will make their net worth very volatile. The entrepreneur on all levels will have a very volatile income, often skyrocketing for short periods of time.
Entrepreneurship is fun, but takes long hours and requires sacrifice to be successful. Being passionate and having a burning desire to succeed at your business will help you achieve your goals.
